Default Glacial Stone Farming

This is my first build so be easy.

Template code: 02QTQ2LjtZ4UD5E2wMxxhVmaAA

Skills

Melandru's Resilience
Vampiric Bite
Vampiric Touch
Wallow's Bite
Touch Of Agony
Storm Cahser
Zojun's Haste
Dodge

Attributes
Wilderness Survival 6+1+3
Expertise 12+3
Blood magic 11

Weapons Used
20/20 Blood Wand
Shelbohs Gaze
Or any Thing like the hoursglass staff

Now all you do is run to South East corner of Jaga Moraine. Rotating between your running skills and avoiding aggro. When you get the Spectral Vaettir's spawns use Melandrus ressilience and keep it up at all times while hexed. Then you just spam your touch skills until the Spectrals are dead. After you clear zone you can zone into Bjora Marches. Then rezone into Jaga Moraine. After this you can rinse and repeat as much as you like. I normally get 5 glacial stones per a zone.

Note: Fighting 1 or 2 at times is best. More than that can result in spike death or not enough energy to spam life stealing.
If this has been posted before sorry. I have used this since release and finally decided to post it. Sorry if this isnt the best guide, but its my first so go easy on the flaming.

Thank you for any comments and constructive criticism.

This build does not work in HM. I would recommend trying a 55build.

If the build works, great. I may try it.

What if I use the hourglass for the +15 energy? Shouldn't that be enough? I don't have a blood wand or Shelboh's Gaze right now.

~Works like a charm! Best to fight them one at a time. I got a Glacial Stone and Top Left Map Piece lol. And I just killed my third Spectral.

~Two more glacial stones in a row! hey if you need the map piece, you can have it.

~Another stone! Seriously! This rules! And I'm using an Hour Glass staff.

~I got a gold drop! Also when doing this, remember to keep Melandru's Resistance up. Don't be tempted to use a run skill to run to a Spectral cause that will cancel out Melandru's. Just take the time to jog. With Melandru's up, you'll see the cap where your health will be at its lowest and you won't die. Take on the Spectral's one at a time. They're easy to pull away from others.

~18 stones and i think 6 in storage. I have about 1/5 of what I need for the Glacial Gauntlets. I just have to do the amount I did about 4 more times.

Grats on coming up with the build! I use a variation of that myself, picked up from a build posted by a helpful member of The Ranger's Beacon, forum name Being

15 exp
11 ws
10 blood

melandru's resilience
vamp touch
vamp bite
awaken the blood
signet of agony
angorodon' gaze
dodge
zojun's haste

- Awaken The Blood raises your blood (and curse) magic to 12, and the only life sac skill you have is Sig of Agony anyway. As Awaken... is an enchantment, it also benefits from you using a Totem Axe/ Razajan's Fervor main weapon.
- Sig of Agony for free AoE damage, plus the bleeding helps fuel MR.
- Angorodon's Gaze for a free life steal every 5 seconds Useful too for pulling faraway vaettirs to come and join the fun.

This build can take on 6 or 7, maybe more vaettirs at once. I usually take them in two or three batches (jogging with MR on, just like Linksys' advice), the group near the entrance from Bjora Marches and the other group near where you enter from your run.

You'd want them to hex you and give you conditions for MR. Sig of Agony and Angorodon's Gaze can help if you have energy issues spamming Vamp Bite and Vamp Touch.

Weapons used are a caster weapon and the +27e / -1 e collector blood knife. The Hourglass Staff will do fine.

Before I found this build I was using the standard toucher build with Offering of Blood as its elite. That went well too, but you can only take on no more than 2 with its build. The MR toucher helped me zoom to 100 stones, and I now have the gloves on my ranger And yes, the occasional gold drop for me too.

That thread started with the same build but it would be easy to think of that one. Melandrus is common to deal with hexes and the rest is run skills and the touch skills. Avanger added two more that makes energy management easier.

I have tried and failed miserably. There are many more mobs on the way, though you can still run to the Vaettir spawn.

I ran into the first group at the entrance. Unfortunately, there are two Mandragor groups nearby, so I had no choice to run into the Vaettirs. From watching the compass, it seems there are about 30+ in the area.

I got there with my 330hp build, and there is just waaay to many in HM. There has got to be around 50 of them suckahz just in one lil area, not to mention the ones in the rest of the area I didn't get to see... I ended up dying from too much aggro... although I was able to tank them for a bit, but my lag killed me.

A couple of questions...

That area is the only area with the Spectral Vaettirs, yes?

And maybe it is me but I can't seem to get more than one per pass through them.
As a side note does it make a difference if you go out with a full party or not?
I never understood that.

If you go out with a full party you'll be fine, just flag the henchies out of your radar range (make sure their names are grayed out) and you'll get all the drops, but you still split gold. Of course, it's easy to run there without agro from Sifhalla.

Also, if you farm them with anything considered "AoE damage" (SoJ, SS, VwK - basically anything that can hit multiple targets at once), it lowers the drop rate. The touchie ranger build seems to get me 3-5 stones per pass, as you're only damaging one enemy at a time. Little tedious if you're used to mass farming, but you can tell the difference in drops right away.

Still if you just aggro all 15 and wipe them out together with Vengeful Was Kanhei, you can complete your run 10x faster than touching them to death. So even if it's 10x lower drops it's still worth it.
